Luther J. Price Middle School in Atlanta Public Schools highlights the importance of self identity and how houses created to remind them of the greatness they come from, can push them to succeed.
Luther J. Price Middle School’s School & Community Engagement Manager, Keely Sutton tells us “We chose these houses for our students to remind them of their identity. Before students can truly tap into their purpose and reach their goals, they must know WHO they are…Knowing their past and embracing that richness, helps them to walk in their purpose and excellence daily.”
At Price Middle, students are placed in houses named after four iconic African tribes: Masai , Xhosa, Zulu, and Yoruba.
The Mighty Masai
The Mighty Xhosa
