Making the Rewards Store Feel Like an Amazon Shopping Spree
Discover how LiveSchool’s new Rewards Store transforms student motivation with Amazon-style shopping that inspires positive behavior and saves teachers time.

What if you could build excitement and positive behavior by not only offering tangible rewards — but giving students an amazing experience?
That question shaped the work behind our new LiveSchool Rewards Store, a space where students take ownership of their effort. They can see what they’ve earned, choose rewards that matter to them, and enjoy the experience of turning effort into something they value.
When students participate this way, something changes. The focus moves from managing behavior to building habits. Motivation grows naturally, and the classroom starts to feel like a community working toward shared goals — not just a list of expectations to follow.
As Hannah from our team shared during our weekly LiveSchool Office Hours,
“It’s kind of like Amazon for your students — they can shop for what motivates them, and you can see the magic happen.”
From Lines to Laughter: Why Student Shopping Matters
Across schools, we kept hearing the same story. Store days were exciting but exhausting. Teachers juggled spreadsheets, counted tickets, and tried to keep up with long lines of students waiting to cash in their points.
Those moments were supposed to build motivation, yet they often created frustration.
With the new Rewards Store, that time and energy return to learning.
- Students always know their balance and what’s available.
- Teachers handle fulfillment in one place.
- Leaders can see patterns and celebrate growth across classrooms.
When the process runs smoothly, everyone feels it. Students understand how their actions connect to results, and teachers spend less time managing logistics and more time recognizing progress.
Rewards That Strengthen Relationships
Snacks and prizes will always have their place. But we’ve learned that the rewards students remember most are often the ones that build connection.
We asked: Which rewards experience is your favorite? Educators in our community have shared dozens of creative examples. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Go Back in Time: Students visit a former teacher for 45 minutes — a simple way to honor past relationships.
- Rent the Chill Room: A small space where students can relax with friends during free time.
- Tech & Takis: Time for collaborative Chromebook games and snacks, often turned into friendly Minecraft builds.
These ideas work because they fit each school’s personality. They invite students to participate in school life, not just earn something from it. When experiences like these sit alongside tangible rewards, culture feels balanced and personal.
A Modern Experience for Today’s Students
Students are used to digital tools that respond instantly and feel intuitive. The Student Shopping feature brings that same sense of ease into daily routines.
Shopping made easy and memorable:
- Students log in through Clever, ClassLink, QR badges, or their own accounts.
- Each reward has an image and short description so goals feel concrete.
- Inventory updates automatically, with email alerts when supplies run low.
- A quick confetti animation marks each completed purchase, making each reward memorable for students.
These touches matter. They show students that effort is noticed and progress is visible.
Clarity and Flexibility for Teachers
With the Teacher Store, every educator can create and manage a store in minutes.
You can:
- Add rewards and set point values.
- Track inventory and fulfillment automatically.
- Schedule delivery or mark items complete after students redeem them.
The Fulfillment Tab keeps everything organized, pending rewards, completed ones, filters by class or grade, and export options for easy distribution.
If something needs to change, a quick refund restores points right away.
Teachers tell us this feature brings structure without adding steps. The system handles the record-keeping; you focus on the celebration.
Sara Johnson, a K-8 teacher at Mariposa Elementary found a fantastic way to make in-person shopping smoother for her youngest learners.
She narrowed the list of available items based on how many points each child had earned, so choices felt manageable and checkout stayed quick. Her older students, meanwhile, loved using the digital store — it gave them independence and a sense of ownership over their decisions.
How Students Experience Ownership
For students, the process feels familiar and empowering. Inside their Recap, they can:
- View total points in a digital “piggy bank.”
- Browse open stores and read short reward descriptions.
- Add items to their cart and watch their balance adjust as they shop.
Checkout happens instantly, and purchases appear on your fulfillment list.
That visibility builds confidence. Students start setting goals, talking about what they’re saving for, and linking effort to outcome. Those small reflections are where intrinsic motivation begins.
Simpler Systems for Schools
Behind the scenes, the Rewards Store handles the details that once slowed schools down.
- Automatic low-inventory reminders
- Fulfillment exports that include class and homeroom info
- Scheduled delivery days
- Optional raffles for big-ticket items or semester events
Everything lives inside LiveSchool, so schools can stay consistent while giving teachers room to personalize.
Rethink Motivation. Reimagine Rewards.
The LiveSchool Rewards Store grew out of a simple belief: when students see progress and have a voice in how they celebrate it, positive behavior becomes part of the culture.
As one teacher shared during our LiveSchool Office Hours,
“It’s the best of both worlds — structure for us, excitement for them.”
We’re excited to see how your students make the experience their own.
